Dreghorn Loan Hall, Colinton

Thursdays 8.30pm-9.30pm

The fusion of Yin yoga with Vinyasa flow creates an integrated, balanced 60 minute yoga practice. The Vinyasa portion is flowing movement requiring strength and balance. The heat and internal awareness generated burns off excess energy allowing for a quieting of the body and mind in order to drop more fully into the Yin portion. These longer held poses are designed to release connective tissues and create space and integrity in the joints, allowing energy to flow through the body. The combination of formats will leave you feeling relaxed, nourished and rejuvenated.

What to wear/ bring?

Something that's not too tight and allows you to move freely. You can do Yoga in your bare feet, yoga shoes or if you prefer to wear socks they should be non-slip (yoga or pilates socks are ideal). Please bring a yoga mat and for Yinyasa, a blanket is recommended.

How much does it cost?

£5 or you can buy a 10 class card for £45.

Can I just turn up?

Yes, booking is not required.

Will it be too difficult for me?

This is a challenging class but you are free to go at your own pace, self modify where required and progress with time. You should rest if you need to during the Vinyasa part of the class and come out of poses in the Yin part of the class if you need to. Always listen to your body during the class. If you are completely new to Yoga, my Hatha Yoga class is probably a better starting point. Please always try a class such as Yinyasa Yoga for several weeks so that you can start to see the benefits and the positive changes in your muscle strength and flexibility. It can actually feel strange at first if you are not familiar with yoga poses, it can feel wrong before it feels right..

Is there anyone that shouldn't come to the class?

No under 14s or pregnant women.

If you have recently given birth, please wait until your doctor gives you permission to resume exercise activities. If you have given birth within the last year, please do let me know.

If you have a diagnosed back/ joint condition or if you suffer from dizziness/ fainting please contact me. Please let me know about recent injuries or surgery.
